The FDA Scientific Computing Board (SCB) in partnership with the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) and the National Center for Toxicological Research (NCTR) is hosting the upcoming 8th Annual Scientific Computing Days (SCD) event on September 29 – 30, 2020, 9:00AM – 4:45PM.
This year’s Scientific Computing Days theme is Lowering Barriers to Data and Lifting the Weight of Real-World Evidence. The rapid progress in scientific computing which enable scientists to use previously unheard-of amounts of data has created unseen issues in how the data is used and shared. Similarly, Real-World Evidence is a new and important source of Data that only adds to the advancement of science. This year’s Scientific Computing Days symposium recognizes this Agency’s need to effectively collect, curate, analyze, and share large quantities of data to fulfill its public health mission.
Scientific Computing Days is an opportunity for FDA science and regulatory staff to share their knowledge and scientific computing capabilities with an audience interested in evolving information technologies to better accomplish the FDA’s mission of protecting and promoting the public health.
